{Happy Birthday}!

Today R. turns 5 yr old. She could hard contain herself this past week. Everyday it was “is it my birthday today?”, “how many breakfast, lunch, and dinners do I have left until it’s my birthday?”, “how old are you? “, I think I am just as happy it’s her special day as she is.

happy birthday

Originally, we were planning a party with her friends but that was quickly cancelled for being soooooo sassy and not taking care of her toys. She thinks she is not going to have a party and no birthday presents from us. So last night Chris and I decorated the Kitchen with streamer and shooting stars. I wanted her to feel special without gifts and a party, everyone deserves that right. :-) So in stead of gifts I am letting her do things she is normally not allowed, for example, at lunch she had a cup of soda pop (which she didn’t drink anyway).  She really is such a good kindhearted child and we feel sooo blessed to have her as our daughter. The first few months after she was born were very difficult because she wouldn’t sleep unles she was nursing and being held.  Nothing was done in our home until R. turn 6 months old, and even then it was hard. The weird thing is, R. is a touchy feelly type of person. It’s how she expresses her love and joy. I know now whenever she starts to get out of control she really just needs a big hug and to be held for a while, then all is good again.

As part of her special day I let them use my cameras on a morning trip to Ann Arbor. Both girls had a blast!!

Yes, I am trying to teach my girls how to take photographs earlier. Hopefully, they will enjoy it one day as much as I do. To me photos are just pictures, they are little treasures. Sometimes we don’t really know what we have in front of us but as time passes we realize how precious these captured moments are. Like everyone else who has kids, my girls are growing so fast! It makes me sad to think 5 yrs have gone by already with R.. She isn’t the little baby anymore and will soon be grown up. (wiping the tear from my eyes.)

I love you R.!!

Gosh, I wish I had a great story to go along with this photo. Un-{fortune}-atley,  I don’t.  Getting over having a head cold and a long weekend of planting flowers and cleaning out our basement. Purple Heart was coming today so it was a perfect weekend to get rid of a TON of stuff we haven’t looked at since I finished college. There was probably 70 college text books. I am going to go off topic, but college students really get ripped off. First, the tuition is expensive and then the books cost a pretty penny. There were soft covered  books I bought for $25 a piece and I needed 4 of them to study for my RN  boards.  This was 10 years ago  already, I would hate to see how much books are now. YIKES!! My husband and I put money away every month for the girls college tuition, Chris doesn’t feel it’s going to be enough. WELL, it better be enough! :-) Or  my girls will have to work and go to school at the small time.

That was so not I intended to post. :-D
