I always love getting packages in the mail. When I went to the mailbox this evening I noticed a box sitting on my front porch. It was from Matilda Jane! R. and I immediately went inside to open it up. Both of us “ooooooooo’d” over the coat inside. It’s so much more than I had expected. It has hidden little treasures throughout which makes it so fun. Thank goodness my camera was sitting on the counter, so we ran outside to snap a few photos before the sun went down. Life has been so busy this is really the first time all month I took photos of R.

And a big kiss for Denise!

This morning I drove across town to meet a wonderful family. Little M. was born 11 days ago and as alert as a 1 month old. His mom said he slept good yesterday, he must have been excited to have his photo taken.
I can say he is a cuddler and just wanted to be in his mom or dad’s arms.

Look at those eyes. M. would follow me as I moved around. It was like he knew what he was suppose to be doing. He didn’t want to sleep yet, it was his time to shine!

If you wait long enough though, they all fall asleep!

Hopefully, M. fell asleep and stayed asleep after I left. He did a wonderful job!! Thanks for letting me be capture this special time in your life. Congratulations M&M.

This morning we had to put our family dog to rest.

In September, we found out Midnight had cancer in her back leg. She had not been using her hind leg for a month or so but we thought her arthritis was getting worse. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When we picked her up from the vet’s she was only suppose to come home for a few weeks, so the “girls” could adjust. In all reality, we all needed to adjust. There would be good days and bad days for Midnight, but finally I couldn’t stand to see her suffer any longer. From the moment we brought Midnight home we knew this day would come, but it doesn’t make missing her any easier.
She was the BEST dog in the whole world. I can’t tell you how safe she made us all feel, even though I know she would have out run us all when faced with fear. Her protective instincts always kicked in when Chris was out of town and she was brave when she really needed to be.
When we first brought R. home from the hospital, Midnight knew she needed to watch over her. EVERYTIME R. cried Midnight made sure I knew it. I could be sitting on the couch trying to sleep and midnight would nudge me or bark to get my attention so I would check on R. H. was terrified of dogs when she was younger. SO afraid she still runs from them but not Midnight. It always amazed me how gentle Midnight is with the kids. H. would pull midnights wiskers, she just sat there and took whatever H. had to give.
She will be missed by our family very much!!!

I want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Teresa O. for coming out earlier this month to take photos of Midnight. She captured Midnight as we saw her everyday. Normally, when I attempted to take her photo she would turn around and show me her butt, go cross eye’d, or just not look at me. I can not tell you how much we will all cherish these images, Midnight was a big part of our family.
