Adorable | Michigan baby photographer

It’s getting late but I wanted to post the sneek peaks from the wonderful session I had this morning. Little Miss H. is 6 months old and couldn’t be cuter! I photographer her newborn session last July, can’t believe it was 6 months already. I hope you enjoy the images!!

If you are pregnant and thinking about having newborn photos contact me for information. While my family photo session dates book up 3-4 months in advance I take newborns photos on a as needed basis. Don’t wait until after you have the baby to call schedule ahead of time, I am very flexible with due dates. :-)

Photographer Tips | SE Michigan child photographer

determined2

I have decide to start posting photographer tips to help get everyone to capture their own unscripted moments of life. It’s one way to give back to all the wonderful families I have meet in the past years and to those who read my blog.

Tip #1- keep your camera out!

Where is your camera right now? If you walk into my house have have three laying around on the counters in my kitchen or other various places. Think about it, if your camera is stuck in it’s case out of reach of the kids do you really have time to go get it before the moment has past? The above photo was taken last night while the girls and I were having quiet time before bed. Kids love to see what their life was like on any given day not just vacations. So go get your camera and put it some where in plain view.

I so have to start doing that.. I have mine near.. like in my living room but always in a case.. so I have to take them out to capture the moment which I usually miss.. however I am affraid to leave them out cause I have those pesky touchy grabby kids who touch stuff they ummm shouldnt

More to come | family photographer

Sorry, I feel like I have been neglecting the blog a little. It’s the winter here in Michigan and it’s been unusually cold. The kids haven’t been able to play outside as much and with school I am always running someonwhere.

You will also notice a few more changes to the blog. Last week I gave up and realized I reached my limit on Html, Css codes and found a wonderful designer to tweak the blog for me. What a weight lifted off my shoulders. Brian C. of Skooks Designs is not only good at what he does, but he is fast, efficient, and a truly kind person to work with. He shares the same business philosophy as myself, “provide quality products and service at a realistic price.” I could have paid other graphic designers a LOT more, but as soon as I read Brian’s business philosophy I knew it didn’t make a difference how much I paid him, I wanted him to help me.

Working on the blog has made me realize even more what is important in business. I hope the families who are interested in Unscripted Moments Photography hire my for their portraits because they love my work and appreciate the fact I do not charge more because I can’t, rather I do not charge more because of my values. It’s more important to me I provide goods and services at a fair and realistic value than it is to over inflate my prices to a point where only a handful of families could afford them, especially in this economy. Now my prices may be to much for some and not high enough for other but that is ok. Hopefully, families are choosing their portrait photographer based on quality and not dollar signs any way. (man this is totally not what I planned on blogging about this morning…oh well)

So I leave you with this image of my last Friday as I sat in my house with no power, reading an article on people from other parts of the world who had nothing (it was such a fitting moment I had to capture it :-) ) Made & the girls appreciate something as little as having a light on in the morning.
