I was bummed when last year I had to turn down doing the newborn session for this little guy. Now a year later, I am ecstatic the family wanted me to shoot G.’s 1 year images. We had to work fast during the session, as all you parents of young kids know, there isn’t much time to get what needs to be done inbetween naps. To my luck, G. was wonderful and by time he was getting fussy we were done.

And here are some outtakes to show the independence this little guy has.

I had some plastic to cover the ground just in case it was too wet to sit on. Well when G. found the bag in my bucket he kept going and getting it out to carry around. It made him happy so why not right.

G. thinks he is big enough to write and wanted to be a part of my little photo project I am doing with my Unscripted families. I thought he would immediately put the chalk in his mouth, but nope he knew to write on the little chalkboard. Such a smart boy!!!

Welcome to the world little Miss S.! She was such a good little baby, being the 4th she didn’t mind the noise. As soon as her dad put on some music, she fell fast asleep.

Then there is nothing like being in the hands of mom and dad. Hold her as much as you can, you know how fast they grow.

This is what I aspire to be, an Honest Photographer. Harry Benson. I love when he talks about a photograph not being able to be reproduced, it’s a moment in time. It’s my business philosophy, If your children are acting a little crazy it’s ok. Life gets a little crazy at time.

Had a wonderful and quiet weekend. It’s been such a long time since we have had a day when we didn’t have to do anything or be anywhere. I sat and listened to music on blip.fm. If there were a hammock in my backyard I would have just layed in that but there isn’t so I didn’t.
